2010 Texoma Valley District Awards Banquet

This year’s annual TVD Banquet was packed with over 200+ Scouts, Scouters and family. 36 young men were recognized as the Eagle class of 2009. Among the recognized Eagles,  5 were from Troop XV: Will Reynolds, Garland Muller, Jimmy Curtis, Ryan Williams and Geoff Hooker (Geoff was not present). These Eagle Scouts received a nice plaque from a local Marine Corps detachment as well as a $50 savings bond from American Bank of Sherman.

In addition to recognizing the Eagle Class of 2009, Cub Scout Packs and Scout Troops were recognized for outstanding achiements in many categories. Troop XV received top honors in Scout Show ticket sales, Popcorn Sales and Friends of Scouting contributions. Ryan Williams also received an award for the top Popcorn seller in the district selling over $2500 in popcorn. The troop was also recognized in receiving the National Camping Award.

The evening rounded out with awards presented to adult volunteers for outstanding achievements to their units and district. Among all of the awards Troop XV Scoutmaster Michael Thompson received the highest award in the district, the District Award of Merit for his time and service to the scouting program.
